Riding

The students take part in the school games which is compulsory. Riding is very popular amongst the students of PPS. About 300 students of the school are the members of the Riding Club. The boys and girls are given excellent coaching in Show Jumping, Dressage, Tent Pegging etc. by a qualified instructor. The school riders have brought laurels to the school at the National level. In 2003 for the first time the school riders participated in the Delhi Horse Show and won 19 medals.

In 2004, 2005 and 2006 the medal tally rose to 33, 51 and 45 (with 13 Gold Medals) respectively. In 2004, our three riders were selected for an international tent pegging competition. PPS has the distinction of winning IPSC Riding Championships many times. Some of the ex students of PPS are riders of international fame.

Achievements

 

PPS riders register thumping presence at Chandigarh Horse Show

The riding team of The Punjab Public School took part in Chandigarh Horse Show, The Ranch, New Chandigarh from November 1-7, 2022. They did extremely well and brought laurels to the school by winning 28 gold, 28 silver and 17 bronze medals. Besides, they bagged cash prizes amounting to Rs 1,50,000/- in different categories. Headmaster Dr DC Sharma applauded the performance of the riders and expressed the hope they will continue to set standards in future as well.

PPS riders make it to national championship

Four (4) riders from The Punjab Public School have been selected for the National Championship to be organised in MP Equestrian Academy, Bhopal in December. The first round of Regional Equestrian League was held at PAP Ground, Jalandhar from October 30-31, 2022. The second round was organised at The Punjab Public School on November 8, 2022.
