Seven (7) students from The Punjab Public School attended the Round Square Virtual Conference hosted by Sunbeam School, Lahartara (Varanasi) on April 29, 2021. The delegates comprised Anya Bath, Ishmeet Kaur, Gursimran Kaur, Manveer Kaur, Hargun Buttar, Deepam Garg and Arnav Dua. The theme of conference was “Let your inner sun shine”. The conference focused on empowering the youngsters by making them understand the essence of leadership. A whopping 38 RS schools from around the world took part in it. The keynote speaker was Ms Kiranbir Sethi. She dwelt at length on varied aspects of leadership. It was followed by a Q/A Session and formation of different barazas.

The baraza session kicked off with an ice-breaker. It was meant to make participants feel at ease and encourage them to forge bonds of friendship. The participants had real fun doing lots of activities. Then came questions directed on leadership. It was a brainstorming of sorts as everyone was seen scratching their heads for various aspects of leadership. They laid threadbare the essentials that go into the making of a good leader. To give a massive platform to the participants to express themselves freely, a padlet was conceived on the spot so that the delegates could share their unique perspective in the shape of poems, songs or drawings. The participants were at their creative best. All the schools made 2-slide PowerPoint Presentations on known and unknown leaders of different nationalities who were responsible for changing their respective societies for the better.

Finally, each participant shared his/her takeaways from the conference. It was indeed an enriching experience for the delegates of The Punjab Public School.
