A lecture was organised at The Punjab Public School on October 8, 2021. Dr Deepak Gupta, MS, orthopedic surgery and an Old Nabhaite (B-727), who did his ICSE in 1990, was the guest speaker. He spoke on First Aid. In a school of the eminence and stature of PPS with 820 boarders on rolls, injuries and accidents of minor nature are almost a daily occurrence. In such situations, the knowledge of First Aid comes in handy. He dwelt at length on what should be done in cases of injuries, bruises, burns, insect bites and stings. He emphasised the need to be properly educated as far as First Aid is concerned. Household remedies stand nowhere compared to the scientifically proven methodologies, said he.
Dr Deepak Gupta is a gold medallist from DMC, Ludhiana. During his graduation, he was adjudged the Best Graduate and the Best All-Rounder. He pursued his post-graduation in orthopedic surgery. He was senior resident doctor in DMC, Ludhiana for a year and is presently practising in Nabha.
