The 68th Republic Day was celebrated at The Punjab Public School, Nabha with great enthusiasm. All the three wings of the NCC were in attendance. The proceedings got underway with the arrival of the chief guest Lt Gen TK Sapru, PVSM, YSM (Retd), Member, the School Board of Governors, The Punjab Public School, Nabha and President, Old Nabhaites’ Association (ONA) at 9.00 am. He unfurled the national tri-colour (TIRANGA) outside the auditorium. The scene shifted to the Pavate Hall. Aakshi Batra and Simranjit Kaur expressed their thoughts on the relevance of the day in English and Hindi respectively. The rendition of Sare jahan se achcha and Aa tujh ko tere vaqt ka by the students from the Junior Wing of the school lent a different feel to the milieu. Speaking on the occasion, Lt Gen Sapru said the uniqueness of India is her unity in diversity. He said the achievements of our country within a span of seven decades are unparalleled in the history of mankind. Dr Jagpreet Singh thanked Lt Gen Sapru for his benign presence. Mr NS Deol, HJW and Mr Ankur Samuel Birkett, Bursar were also present.
