Dr Gurvinder Kaur has taken over as the Deputy Headmaster of The Punjab Public School, Nabha wef August 9, 2021. Besides being the alumnus of PPS, she has 23 years of rich experience as an English teacher. She is known for her pragmatic and result-oriented approach. She played a pivotal role as the Head, Department of English and executed upskilling of students both from Junior as well as Middle School. A firm believer in enhancement of skills, she has taken part in a number of workshops, webinars and seminars over the years. She left a mark in pastoral care during her tenure as the Housemistress of Senior Sutlej House from 2011 to 2016. She was Coordinator Cambridge Assessment International Education, Coordinator IPSC Teachers’ Conclave 2019, Coordinator Career Counselling (2011-2014), Coordinator NDA Coaching (2012-2014), Coordinator Leadership Programme by tGelf (2008-2013), Coordinator Communication Programme to improve spoken English and Coordinator Events. She took the initiative to plan and execute the programme for NDA Coaching and SAT Coaching for two years consecutively. She has been deeply involved in Council evaluation over the years. She attended the IPSC Trust Leadership Development Workshop at Pinegrove School, Dharampur. Besides, she was part of Thames Valley Summer Schools Programme in 2016 and bagged the Certificate of Acknowledgement in the Global Citizen Program- Sevenoaks School, UK.
Her zeal for excellence has been duly recognised over the years. She was given the Star Lead Teacher (Secondary) Award at the Teaching Excellence Awards and Reliance Foundation Teacher Award (Teaching Olympiad) in 2018 and Global Teacher’s Award by AKS Education Awards in 2019 respectively. For her accomplishments in public life by promoting education for establishing a just and equitable society, an honorary Doctor of Letters- D Litt was conferred upon her by the University of Central America.
