All India IPSC Taekwondo Championship-2016 (Girls U-14, 17 & 19)

Guntaz and Anmol make it to the National Championship

All India IPSC Taekwondo Championship was held at Vidya Devi Jindal School, Hisar from September 1-3, 2016. A contingent of 6 girls led by Amanpreet Kaur represented The Punjab Public School, Nabha. The girls won 2 Gold, 1 Silver and 2 Bronze Medals. Guntaz Kaur and Anmol Kaur were selected for National Taekwondo Championship. Daly College, Indore emerge winners

All India IPSC (Boys U-14, 17 & 19) Squash Championship came to a grand finale at The Punjab Public School, Nabha on July 21, 2016. More than 140 players from 14 top schools of the country took part in the 6-day event. The team from Daly College, Indore emerged victorious. Mr RP Devgan, Principal, YPS, Mohali was the chief guest. He gave away the trophies and medals to the winners. Dr Jagpreet Singh, Headmaster, The Punjab Public School, Nabha thanked the chief guest for his benign presence. The event assumed lasting significance with Mr S S Toor, Admin Officer, Elementary Education, Punjab and Incharge, Punjab State Games & Sports presiding over the proceedings on Day-2 of the event.

Ansh Tripathi from Welham Boys’ School, Dehradun won the championship.
Anant Kasliwal from Daly College, Indore was the runner-up.
Boys U-17
Gautam Nagpal from Modern School, New Delhi won the championship.
Tejas Chawala from Modern School, New Delhi was the runner-up.
Boys U-19
Ramit Bhargav from Mayo College, Ajmer won the championship.
Kunal Singh from Mayo College, Ajmer was the runner-up.

MNSS, Rai lifts All India IPSC (Girls U-17) Hockey Championship Trophy

Motilal Nehru School of Sports, Rai lifted the All India IPSC (Girls U-17) Hockey Championship Trophy by defeating The Punjab Public School, Nabha on July 7, 2016 in a keenly contested final. The girls from MNSS, Rai and PPS, Nabha had made it to the final after matches on round-robin basis. Mr Ajit Singh Pannu, Commissioner, Patiala was the chief guest on the occasion and awarded the trophy to winning team. He also presented the runners- up trophy to PPS, Nabha. Madhu from MNSS, Rai was adjudged the best player of the tournament while Gunjan from PPS, Nabha declared the best goalkeeper. Mr Pannu complimented both the teams for their fighting spirit and hoped that some of the young girls who played the match would go on to represent the country. Dr Jagpreet Singh, Headmaster, The Punjab Public School thanked the chief guest and announced that both the finalist teams had qualified to take part in the prestigious Nehru Cup hockey tournament.
