MUN Conference
Model United Nations, also known as MUN, is an educational simulation and academic activity in which students can learn about diplomacy, international relations, and the United Nations. MUN involves and teaches participants researching, public speaking, debating, and writing skills, in addition to critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership abilities. Moreover it helps students to know about current affairs, world Politics and Geography.
Participants in Model United Nations conferences, known as delegates, are placed in committees and assigned countries to represent, or occasionally other organizations or political figures, where they represent members of that body. They are presented with their assignments in advance, along with a topic or topics that their committee will discuss. Delegates conduct research before conferences and formulate positions that they will then debate with their fellow delegates in the committee, staying true to the actual position of the member they represent. At the end of a conference, the best-performing delegates in each committee, as well as delegations, are recognized with award

CSIAMUN-2016
Cheongshim International Academy, South Korea
(January 26-February 1, 2016)
A total of 6 students- Gurmanjot Gosal, Anmoldeep Kaur, Sukhneet Kaur, Varinda Garg, Harleen Kaur Ghuman, Harsimran Kaur along with their Teacher Escort, Mr Abhishek K Singh landed at Incheon Airport in Seoul on January 26, 2016. The next two days were devoted exclusively to learning skiing under the guidance of our coaches. Initially, it seemed achild’s play but it took a turn for the worst the moment we got into our skiinggears with boots weighing 3-4 kg each. We adapted ourselves to the conditions soon enough and started to pick up skiing gradually. This will definitely go down the memory lane as an unforgettable experience.
On January 28, Mr Stephen Gabb, Conference Coordinator took us to the venue of the conference. On the way, we visited the Trick Eye 3-D Interactive Museum. It offered us an experience in optical illusion. We also made it to the Ice Museum where everything was made of ice and the temperature was below -10°C.
On January 29, the conference got underway with the Opening Ceremony. We were allotted our respective committees. Our session continued from 9 am to 9 pm with a break of lunch and dinner only. These were highly enlightening sessions and we gained a lot from them.
On January 30, we had cultural performances. We performed a Group Dance and a Solo Dance by Varinda.
On January 31, we had Closing Ceremony. Gurmanjot K Gosal was given the Most Honourable Delegate Certificate in her Committee. We were also part of a gala dinner organised by the host school. We flew back to India the same night. We reached India on February 2, 2016.
